Student Guide: Online Platforms

ONLINE PLATFORMS

You may be using a number of different online platforms for your courses. Please make sure to read your course outlines carefully for more information.

You can use your new Marianopolis email to access Microsoft 365. For more information, please read the instructions below.

OMNIVOX

Omnivox is the online portal that gives you access to course information, the MIO messaging system, and college services. Please make sure to consult Omnivox daily.

The following video provides some general instructions on the most important features of Omnivox.

LÉA

Léa is the classroom environment in Omnivox. Use it to access class information such as course outlines, information on assignments, due dates, etc.

The following video provides some general instructions on how to access different elements in Lea Classroom.

MIO

MIO is the internal messaging system in Omnivox.

The following video provides instructions on how to use MIO to communicate with your teachers, classmates, and college staff.

MICROSOFT OFFICE 365

  • Go to www.office.com  to access to all Microsoft Office apps (Word, Excel, etc.) and to download and activate Office 365 on your personal devices.. You can use the web version or install Office on your computer by clicking on the Install button. You will need to access Microsoft 365 if your teachers have asked you to use Microsoft Teams or other Microsoft apps for their course.

  • To sign in, use your official College email address: FIRSTNAME.LASTNAME@office.marianopolis.edu
    • Example: Sam.Smith@office.marianopolis.edu. If you have a “first” or “last” name that consists of several parts, separate them with a period: SamTaylor.SmithSwift@office.marianopolis.edu.
    • If you are a second year student, or have otherwise already accessed Microsoft 365 services by using the “old” username format (YOURSTUDENTID@marianopolis.com), start using the new FIRSTNAME.LASTNAME@office.marianopolis.edu format, beginning this term.
  • The password before you change it is your Permanent Code, or “permcode”, with a “#” at the end. If you do not already know it, your permcode can be found on your Marianopolis Student ID card, or on your Collegial Studies Grades transcript (available in Omnivox). The letters of your permcode must all be in CAPS and must be followed by a #.
    • Example: ABCD12345678#
  • If you have already installed Office 365 using a different user (e.g. your high school account), you must sign out and sign in again using your FIRSTNAME.LASTNAME@office.marianopolis.edu account in order to re-activate your account.

TURNITIN

Turnitin is an online platform that some teachers are using for students to submit assignments, receive feedback, and identify potential plagiarism concerns. Instructions on how to access Turnitin will be provided by your teacher.
