Aboriginal Territories in Cyberspace is an Aboriginally determined research-creation network whose goal is to ensure Indigenous presence in the web pages, online environments, video games, and virtual worlds that comprise cyberspace. AbTeC is headquartered in the Indigenous Futures Cluster at the Milieux Institute for Art, Culture and Technology, located at Concordia University in Montreal, Quebec.

daphne is a non-profit Indigenous artist-run centre committed to serving the needs of emerging, mid-career, and established Indigenous artists through exhibitions and associated programming, workshops, residencies and curatorial initiatives. daphne encourages a culture of peace through critical, respectful exchange with our Indigenous and non-Indigenous peers and audiences.

Powwow time is Native people meeting together, to join in dancing, singing, visiting, renewing old friendships and making new ones. This is a time to renew thoughts of the old ways and to preserve a rich heritage. Originally a Powwow, or “celebration” as it was called in the old days, was held in the spring to welcome the new beginnings of life. Often different tribal nations would come together for the occasion. During these general meetings the Native American Indians would settle arguments between different groups, form alliances, and trade with one another. It was also a time for families to hold naming and honoring ceremonies. The original Pow Wows often were of religious significance and therefore consisted of different religious songs and dances.

The First Nations Education Council (FNEC) is an association made up of eight First Nations of Quebec: Abenaki, Algonquin, Atikamekw, Huron Wendat, Innu, Malecite, Mi’kmaq, and Mohawk. Spread over a large territory, its 22-member communities, representing a total of 24 elementary and secondary schools as well as Kiuna Institution, and approximately 5 800 students, have their own language, culture, demographic and socioeconomic profile, and traditions. In addition to their Indigenous language, 12 of our member communities are French-speaking, and 10 are English-speaking.

McGill's First Peoples' House attempts to provide a sense of community and a voice to Indigenous students who have left their home communities in order to pursue higher education. Please speak to the coordinators of the Indigenous Studies Certificate for more information on visiting this location.

This network of curated boards contains online materials created by Indigenous individuals or organizations, or by organizations that work closely with and that centre Indigenous perspectives. While this board is aimed primarily at educators and students in the anglophone Cégep network local to Tio'tia:ke/Montreal, it is available to anyone!

Established in 1978, the Kanien’kehá:ka Onkwawén:na Raotitióhkwa Language and Cultural Center was created to preserve and enrich the language and culture of the Kanien’kehá:ka (Mohawk) of Kahnawà:ke. Our center is located in the Mohawk Territory of Kahnawà:ke south of Montreal, Canada.

The Indigenous Cultures collection is composed of over 16,000 archaeological and historical objects covering nearly 12,000 years of history. Eloquent examples of the material culture of First Nations, Inuit and Métis people living primarily in Canada but also in regions of the United States, Siberia and Greenland, these items reflect the great diversity and richness of Indigenous cultures.

The Montreal Indigenous community NETWORK supports the ecosystem of individuals and groups committed to improving the quality of life of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis communities living in the greater Montreal area.

For over 40 years the Native Friendship Centre of Montreal Inc. (NFCM) has provided continuous quality services to the urban Indigenous population of Montreal and their families and is the only comprehensive service and referral point in the Greater Montreal Area (GMA) in relation to health, social services, legal, orientation/information, education, training, and employment referral for those migrating to or through the city including those from across Quebec, Canada, and the Americas.

Since its incorporation in 1987, the Native Women's Shelter of Montreal has provided shelter and support to First Nations, Inuit and Métis women and their children.
