Library Orientation (Fall 2023): Logging into accounts

This guide introduces the Library and its services to new Marianopolis students. It supplements information that all students receive through the Library Orientation session that they receive in their English 603-101-MQ course.

Your College Login

At Marianopolis, you can use the same login to access the College computers, the College “StuStu” WiFi network, wireless network printing, the Library databases, and https://thehub.marianopolis.edu, where you can request ITS support.

The default settings for logging in is as follows:

  • Username:  Your seven-digit student number (e.g. 1234567), which can be found on your student ID.
  • Password: The default password is your permanent code, which can be found on your student ID, followed by the # symbol (e.g. ABCD12345678#). The permanent code is the series of letters and numbers that begins with the first three letters of your last name. The password is case-sensitive, so enter the letters as capitals.

Please note that this password is NOT your Omnivox password. The password for the College's computers and for Omnivox are independent of one another.

Microsoft Office 365: As a student at the College, you also have access to Microsoft Office 365. You can use it to access various Microsoft 365 software platforms (such as Microsoft Teams and Outlook), and for downloading and activating Office 365 on your personal devices. This is also your official college email address. It looks like this:

FIRSTNAME.LASTNAME@office.marianopolis.edu (e.g.: Sam.Smith@office.marianopolis.edu).

If you have a “first” or “last” name that consists of several parts, separate them with a period: SamTaylor.SmithSwift@office.marianopolis.edu.

Although your database and Microsoft 365 accounts have different usernames, both use the same password. Again, the default setting for the password is password is your permanent code, which can be found on your student ID, followed by the # symbol (e.g. ABCD12345678#). The permanent code is the series of letters and numbers that begins with the first three letters of your last name. The password is case-sensitive, so enter the letters as capitals.

To change your password: You should change your password to something of your choosing, as soon as possible. Do this at https://myprofile.microsoft.com. Log in by using your FIRSTNAME.LASTNAME@office.marianopolis.edu username and the default password. Take this time to also enter your password recovery information: a mobile phone number, personal email address, or both. Once your password has been changed for Microsoft 365, it will automatically update the password for your “Active Directory” user account.

If you cannot remember your password: Go to the Teaching and Learning Technologies (TLT) Service Counter (A-362) with your student ID and request a password reset. You must have your student ID or they will not reset your password.

Logging into the College wifi

To log into the College wifi network, please do the following:

  1. Select the StuStu network on your wireless device. Choose "connect".
  2. You will be asked to enter a username and password. This is the same username and password as your College login, detailed in the section of the same name on this page. It is not your Omnivox password.
  3. Choose "connect" again. You should now have access to the StuStu network.

If you have any problems with connecting to StuStu, go to the Teaching and Learning Technologies (TLT) Service Counter (A-362).

Logging in to the College wireless printing

It is possible to print from your own laptop while on campus. To do so, please do the following:

  1. Make sure your laptop is connected to the StuStu wifi network. Wireless printing will only work when you are connected to this network. To connect to StuStu, please see "Logging in to the College wifi" on this page.
  2. Open a browser tab on your laptop and go to: stuprint.marianopolis.com. The site will ask you for a username and password. This is the same username and password that you use to log in to the College computers. If you have not logged in to a College computer yet, please see "Logging into the College computer" on this page.
  3. Once you have logged in, Click the "Browse" button and select the document that you wish to print. Then click "Next." Please note: College printing does not support the printing of Google Docs or Pages documents. Before printing, please convert these documents to PDFs.
  4. It will take a moment for the system to upload your document. Once this is done, you will see the name of the document appear at the bottom of the page, along with the today number of pages and a status that says "awaiting release." Under this, there is a drop-down box that allows you to select which College printer you wish to use. Printers are divided up according to the area they are in on campus. It is advisable to pick the printer that is closest to you. For more information on printing, see the Printers and photocopiers section of the Technology page of this guide. Once your have selected your printer, click "Print."

Please Note: It is not possible to print from one of the laptops that you borrow from the TLT desk. In this case, you must save the file, e-mail it to yourself or put it on a memory key, then print the file from one of the Library desktop computers.
